Blast trom the Past
East Point Signs, Byron Bay was established in 1990, back then we didn’t have any computers so all work was traditionally signwriten by brush, so many of the photo’s in this section are completely painted with no adhesive vinyl at all. In 1992 East Point Signs purchased their first computer & vinyl cutting plotter, but all pictorial & mural work was still hand painted & air-brushed. There are no digital prints in this section.
Signwriter is a pretty loose term these days, most companies still calling themslves Signwriters, but are actually Signmakers. The art of hand painted signs is sadly being lost, “But That’s Progress”, & builders certainly don’t build houses with hammers any more either. At East Point Signs, we still get the occasional order for a traditionally produced hand painted sign which is very satisfying. If you have a special project that requires a hand painted sign on pretty much any type of surface, don’t hesitate to contact us.
