Byron Bay Signwriting
Signwriting is a very broad term these days, but it's
the original term to describe the Signmaking trade. Signwriters like
myself were trained over a four year apprenticeship, learning traditional
brushwork,
guilding, pictorial work, panel preparation etc. Sadly today Signwriting
is a dying trade, being taken over by computers, but that's progress!
Signwriting is still requested these days for that traditional
look, or for a sign on a highly irregular surface. The skills taught
during an apprenticeship relating to letter shapes & design
are vital in producing a balanced sign, using a brush or a computer.
Here
at East Point Signs we can produce signs using traditional brushed
lettering with high gloss enamel or water based acrylic paints.
